Fall for our Campaign
September 21st, we launched our Fall Campaign, with a goal to raise $20,000 by the end of the year.
Why now: Literary Nights is growing into a pillar of the community: a place where ideas, words, and artistic expression flourish, not only for those who are professional writers, but for those called to literature as a vocation, as a bewildering insistence, including anyone who doesn't quite know why writing down or reading their own story makes them feel real. What's true for all of us is that spending time in or around artistic expression is one of the few things that opens us to the true nature of time and space and into the endless possibilities of forming new neural pathways. A paradoxical result of going beyond the same story via the vehicle of story.
For three years, we've brought our mission’s work, to explore our humanity by sharing our stories, to the Eastside of greater Seattle, on the backs of volunteer gifted hours and the generosity of our supporters. We believe in the intrinsic value of Literary Nights’ mission, in a world where money increasingly follows robotic efficiency, LLMs and the threat of human extinction. We hope you'll join us in sustaining and expanding the possibility of being with each other in ways that are ancient, ritualistic and based in felt phenomena.
Our annual budget is $50,000, so this campaign represents nearly half of what it takes to run our organization for a full year. Your gift will go directly toward the audio-visual and technical production that makes our events professionally produced, honorariums for the featured writers and artists who share their work, staff support to keep this running beyond volunteer hours alone, and marketing to expand our reach further into the community. As a young, small nonprofit, the support of individual donors like you are what makes this work possible.
